Thanks to dear Rachna Singh, Principal Editor for curating a great Walnut & Gold edition filled with beautiful haibun, insightful interviews with celebrated haiku poets Jim Kacian & Michael Dylan Welch and many interesting articles. The Haibun of prominent poets are a great read!

    Morendo

    Outside my bedroom window, stands the royal poinciana tree. Its flaming orange blossoms have always inspired me to set up my easel. With the changing season, it stands bare, a single leaf clings to the branch, heedless of the wind and rain, fluttering, but still holding on.

    I marvel at its tenacity. It reminds me of you. How you fought and held on desperately till the very end.
