Delighted to have my #haiku in The Haiku Foundations’s Haiku Dialogue —Editor’s Choice this Wednesday on the theme of Migration-Immigration.

Grateful to Carole MacRury, Guest Editor for the selection and her beautiful commentary which touched my heart.

My father migrated from Sargodha, Pakistan and settled in Lucknow, where I was born and grew up. He used to recount stories of his life with much longing for his lost home & friends. This memory inspired my haiku. The word “hiraeth” fully expressed his emotion of an irretrievably lost homeland.
