The three-legged stray dog, I call Soldier, waits patiently outside the gate this winter morning. I grab a handful of biscuits from the almost-full jar I keep in the garden shed and come out to feed him. Since the passing of our beloved labrador Rumi, all her treats have been for the strays of the neighborhood.

I wonder why I fed my pet merely three biscuits, one-by-one, as a reward for fetching her far-flung ball.

    the clutter we keep
    for a distant tomorrow

Grateful to dear Sangita Kalarickal Krivošíková, issue Editor & Richard Grahn, creator & founding collaborative artist & Editor for the guidance & publication. 🙏
